Queen of Basketball, WNBA Superstar Ruthie Bolton, Will Host 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft

The Mississippi Association of Players is excited to announce the Queen of Women's Basketball, WNBA Superstar Ruthie Bolton, will host the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft on Sunday, April 13, 2025.


The draft will take place in beautiful downtown at the VFW Building, 108 Mobile Street, in Hattiesburg, MS. Tickets are available for the event on Friday, March 28, 2025. The event is expected to be sold out.


The event begins at 6pm with an exciting red-carpet entrance where athletes will be able to take photos on the red-carpet when they enter the event. Then, moving on from the red-carpet, there is a meet & greet where athletes get a chance to meet other top ranked athletes from across the state.


The draft itself kicks off at 7pm in which WNBA Superstar Ruthie Bolton will host. Ruthie is a 2x WNBA All-Star herself and is very excited about announcing the state's official's basketball all-stars.


Ruthie is also a 2x US Olympic Gold Medalist, a World Gold Medalist, a FIBA Gold Medalist, a FIBA Bronze Medalist, WNBA Hall of Fame Inductee, Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, California Hall of Fame Inductee, Multi-Ethnics Hall of Fame & a host of many other awards, honors, and recognition, including being called, "The Queen of Women's Basketball."


The top 200 basketball athletes are invited to the Basketball All-Star Draft for an opportunity to be selected as an official Mississippi Basketball All-Star, participating in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game on Saturday, May 3.


During the draft, coaches of each team take turns in selecting a player to add to their all-star roster. Once the decision on which player to select is made, that is then turned into the podium on stage where that player will be announced. This is guaranteed to be one night filled with a lot of emotions.


The Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game is the biggest basketball game in Mississippi. The game is televised live and features the state's best players in 9th - 12th grade from Mississippi's public, private, and charter schools. Yes, literally the best of the best talent for Mississippi.


Any student in the 7th-12th grade that attend any public, private or charter school in Mississippi can join the Mississippi Association of Players. Students 9th - 12th grade are eligible to be a state all-star in whatever sports they play. MAP provides a host of tools, resources, and events including camps, college visits, mentorship programs with college and pro athletes, state rankings, state awards and a lot more opportunities to better student athletes throughout the year free of charge.
