The Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game, the only high school basketball all-star game sanctioned by the NCAA, is expected to be one of the biggest basketball games of the year as the Mississippi Association of Players are pulling out all of the stops and tricks.
During the selection of this year's state basketball all-stars at the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 2025 at The VFW Building in downtown Hattiesburg at 7pm, MAP is expected to announce where the state basketball all-star game will take place.
No matter what venue is lucky enough to host the best high school basketball players in the state, one thing is almost guaranteed, the game will most likely be sold out which is very different than other all-star games.
There will be a total of 6 teams and 3 All-Star Games. Each team will consist of 15 of the best athletes in Mississippi. There will be 2 all-star boys teams that will play each other and two all-star girls teams that will play each other.
Then, there will be a boys team and a girls team that will officially represent Mississippi vs another state. That state has already been selected and will be revealed during the All-Star Draft.

The All-Star Game
One reason the games will be sold out and why there is so much excitement in this year's all-star game is because for the first time in Mississippi's history, public and private school student athletes are both eligible to play on the same all-star team.
In addition to public and private school students playing on the same time, for the first time 9th - 12th graders will also be eligible to play, not just 11th or 12th graders.
All student athletes must be members of the Mississippi Association of Players to be eligible to be a state all-star. Student athletes can sign up to be a member of Mississippi Association of Players by clicking here.
But making 9th-12th grade student athletes from any Mississippi school eligible is a game changer. This means the very best athletes in high school sports will represent Mississippi. This is one of the reasons so many athletes are signing up to be members of MAP.
Also, this year's basketball game is expected to be star studded. You can expect to see several celebrities during the all-star game. There have been rumors that celebrities may even attend the All-Star Draft on Friday, February 7th in Downtown Hattiesburg, though that has not been confirmed by any MAP official.
A Special Half-time
Besides the All-Star Game itself, MAP is also having a 3 point shootout and dunk contest during the state All-Stars. So, MAP is also looking for the best shooters and the best dunkers in Mississippi.
The big excitement will definitely be who will perform doing all-star weekend. A secret that MAP isn't telling anyone, but has confirmed they are working on a special performance during All-Star Weekend.
All-Star Week
For student athletes who will be selected during the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft as an official Mississippi All-Star, it will be an experience of a lifetime. Athletes can expect a week of fun, a whole lot of food, multiple practices, campus visits, one on one with college recruiters, fun group activities, and building relationships that will last a lifetime.
All-stars also get to keep their official all-star game jerseys, have their profile featured on the MAP website as an official state all-star, and play on tv in front of tens of thousands of fans.
Pre-Game & Post All-Star Game
That's not to mention the drip walk headed into the All-Star game, the 2k tournament before the all-star game, and the official awards and afterparty after the all-star game. Family and friends are encouraged to attend the official basketball awards where athletes will receive there official all-star awards, along with game MVPs, as well as season awards.
In the words of several high school athletes who have been patiently waiting to hear their name called during the All-Star Draft, this year's All-Stars is "LIT!"
